Cascara Tea

These coffee husks, also called cascara, can be brewed into a delicious tea, which has a long tradition in the growing regions. After harvesting, the pulp of the coffee cherry is removed from the bean and dried. In terms of taste, the tea is just as diverse as coffee. Our cascara comes from a Geisha coffee and has a particularly soft aroma.

Cascara Tea

Cascara comes from the Spanish and translates as „husk“. It is the pulp of the coffee cherry that surrounds the coffee bean. This pulp is separated from the coffee bean after harvest and dried according to strict protocol to be used as cascara tea.

The coffee cherry tea is a tangy drink. In terms of taste, cascara is strongly reminiscent of honey and rosehip, also slightly reminiscent of hibiscus. Just like the coffee bean, the husk also contains caffeine. Thus, it is an alternative caffeine kick for caffeine lovers.

Preparation tips

We recommend you to pour 7.5 g of dried tea in a teapot with 200 ml of water (94 – 96 °C) and infuse it for about 4 minutes. The taste will be more intense the longer you steep your tea.

Ganz speziell
