Indonesia, a Little Different
This special Arabica rarity from Java shows you a new side to a classic origin: instead of smoky, earthy notes, you can expect the taste of a fruity, juicy praline. The Java Rare Edition is surprisingly complex and full of energy – combined with the richness and creamy texture typical of the country. Let yourself be inspired by this limited edition natural coffee and discover the versatility of Indonesian coffee.
Coffee From the Heart of Java
The beans for our Rare Edition grow on the Ijen-Raung massif in East Java, where volcanic soils are particularly fertile and rich in minerals. The coffee cherries ripen at an altitude of 1,300 to 1,600 metres – cultivated in the shade, picked by hand and processed with great care.
Java has been synonymous with high-quality coffee for over 300 years. The KSU Surya Abadi Kayumas cooperative shows how this tradition is being carried forward today: transparently, with a focus on quality and organised collectively. It strengthens quality, social cohesion and economic stability in the region. In partnership with PT. Indokom Citra Persada, farmers receive fair prices, regular training and support for sustainable agriculture. The result: consistently exceptional quality and sustainable coffee production.
Unusually Fruity Aromas Produced by Hand
After harvesting, the ripe coffee cherries are dried in the sun, carefully sorted and selected several times. This creates the fruity, juicy flavour that makes this coffee so special.
The result: a clear Arabica with lively acidity and gentle sweetness. Typical Java in its texture, but with a modern interpretation – and an extraordinary result.
Tips for preparation
Our Java Rare Edition is particularly strong in pour-over methods, e.g. with the Hario V60. These bring out the fruity-sweet and spicy notes most clearly in the cup. The AeroPress or a classic filter coffee machine also work excellently and ensure a pleasant balance. Our tip: grind the beans a little finer and brew with clean, not too hot water – this will keep the coffee juicy, clear and lively.
A rare natural – fruity-sweet, pleasantly creamy and ready to surprise you. The special Java Rare Edition shows how much innovation can be found in a traditional origin.
