Your Gentle Caffeine Kick
Full Flavor, Half the Caffeine
Coffee often feels too strong, but you don’t want to miss out on a little kick? Then our Low Caf Set is just right for you.
How Do I Mix Low Caf Coffee Correctly?
To prepare a Low Caf coffee, simply mix caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee in equal parts, i.e. 1:1. This way you enjoy the full coffee flavor while cutting the caffeine content in half – perfect for everyone who wants to reduce their caffeine intake a bit without giving up aroma.
The coffees for the combinations Light Roast and Dark Roast were carefully selected from our entire portfolio by our roasting experts. This way you can be sure that the flavors harmonize perfectly.
If you usually use 60 g of coffee for brewing, here’s what you do for a Low Caf result: Mix 30 g Buna Dimaa (or Limu) with 30 g Buna Dimaa Decaf. Prepare the coffee as usual. And your everyday Low Caf coffee is ready!
What Is Low Caf and Why Is It Good?
Low Caf coffee contains significantly less caffeine than classic coffee but still offers full flavor. It is suitable for anyone who wants to reduce their caffeine intake without giving up coffee.
Caffeine stimulates the central nervous system. For many people it is a welcome wake-up and energy boost. In larger amounts or for those with higher sensitivity, however, too much caffeine can also have negative effects on the body. Low Caf combines enjoyment with digestibility, allowing you to integrate coffee more consciously into your everyday life.
Tips for Preparation
Each variety is suitable for all filter coffee brewing methods. The coffees in this set are the perfect all-rounders for your Low Caf drink: they always turn out well, no matter how you brew them.
Buna Dimaa
Buna Dimaa tastes like a cozy evening by the fireplace: roasted nuts and creamy cocoa create moments of comfort and relaxation. You can expect an intense yet pleasantly low-acid filter coffee that never lets you down – no matter how you combine it. The dark, classic roast is perfect for anyone who prefers bold roast aromas or enjoys coffee best with milk (or alternatives) or sugar.
Buna Dimaa Decaf
The Caffeine-Free Base of Your Blend
Our bestseller Buna Dimaa is also available in a decaffeinated version. You get the same taste with the exact same green coffee components – gently decaffeinated by a German coffee refinement facility. In the water decaffeination process used, the caffeine is literally washed out of the bean while the coffee’s natural aromas are preserved. This also allows the coffee to maintain its status as “organic-certified.”
The result? A decaffeinated 100% Arabica blend that comes very close to its caffeinated original. Buna Dimaa Decaf is your moment of relaxation and comfort – low in acidity, gentle, and reliably good!
Like a Cosy Evening by the Fireplace
Buna Dimaa tastes like a cosy evening by the fireplace: roasted nuts and creamy cocoa ensure moments of comfort and relaxation. You can expect an intense yet pleasantly low-acid filter coffee that never lets you down – no matter how you combine it.
Tips for Preparation
The dark and classic roast is perfect for those who prefer strong roasted aromas or enjoy their coffee with milk (or milk alternatives) or sugar. Buna Dimaa is best prepared in a fully automatic coffee machine, a classic filter coffee machine or a French press.
A Low-acid, Strong Blend from Three Countries
Buna Dimaa is a blend from three countries: selected beans from Colombia, Ethiopia and Peru have been combined to create the perfect flavour combination.
Around 40 % of the beans come from Colombia and provide the sweet caramel notes. The coffee grows in the highlands of the Sierra Nevada under ideal conditions: certified organic, slowly ripened and particularly low in acidity. Another 40 % comes from the Limu region in Ethiopia. The beans are grown there in forest gardens at an altitude of around 2,000 metres, surrounded by trees and natural vegetation. This ensures a delicate freshness and a slight spiciness that brings the blend to life. The remaining 20% comes from Peru, which also produces excellent quality specialty coffee. The special care and dedication result in beans with a delicate chocolate note that rounds everything off. In the cup, Buna Dimaa has a pleasant nutty and caramel flavour and impresses with its balanced yet strong character.
Sustainable Farming in Harmony with Nature
The beans for Buna Dimaa come from direct collaboration with three selected cooperatives. In Colombia, 88 coffee farmers are part of the Coocafe cooperative, with whom we’ve maintained a close partnership since 2016. Almost a third of the members are women. They grow their coffee organically, place great importance on working in harmony with nature, and work together to improve the livelihoods of their families.
The Ethiopian component of the blend is sourced from the Bikila Ibsa cooperative. A total of 1,138 farmers produce and process the coffee there with great care, by hand and with years of experience – at an altitude of 1,950 metres. Since the construction of a new washing station and the introduction of quality training for producers, the quality of the coffee has improved even further.
The family-run business Negrisa in Peru also places great emphasis on outstanding quality. They have been cultivating specialty coffees for over 15 years. To ensure full control over the quality of their coffee, they have chosen to bring cultivation, processing, and export together under one roof. With passion, experience, and meticulous care, they continue to bring the flavour of Peruvian coffee to the world.
Buna Dimaa is your moment of relaxation and comfort – low in acidity, balanced and proven to be good!
Bikila Ibsa Cooperative
At an altitude of 1,950 meters in Bikila Ibsa, in north-western Ethiopia, not only exceptional coffee grows – but also hope. 1,138 farmers have joined forces to produce excellent washed coffee. Thanks to your support, we have invested in a new washing station and quality training for producers together with the cooperative – a milestone for the region.
