A Sweet and Fruity Slice of Cake for Every Day

With La Vega, it's always coffee and cake time – this balanced everyday coffee tastes like a fruity cheesecake with sweet caramel sauce and is always a perfect match. Lovingly produced by a family in the green hills of Cundinamarca, this microlot shows just how much elegance and clarity Colombian coffee has to offer.

A Family Business with Expertise and Vision

Finca Cafetera Valparaíso in Colombia is a family business with vision. Around 150,000 coffee trees grow on 45 hectares, 27 of which are used for coffee cultivation. The farm is run by Martha Cecilia Álvarez Vélez together with her husband and two children.

With 25 permanent employees, the finca creates secure jobs and shows how corporate responsibility and the highest coffee quality can go hand in hand. Martha and her family are committed to sustainable coffee cultivation, exceptional quality and long-term growth. The next generation is already waiting in the wings: Martha's daughter wants to study agricultural science so that she can take over the farm. The sale of this microlot supports the family in carrying on the tradition of Colombian coffee quality into the next generation and continuing to develop the farm in innovative ways.

Careful Craftsmanship for a Special Microlot

At an altitude of 1,550 metres, Martha cultivates the Castillo and Cenicafé 1 varieties and impressively demonstrates how much elegance and clarity Colombian coffee has to offer.

The cherries are harvested exclusively by hand at the perfect degree of ripeness and then carefully sorted. After pulping, the coffee is fermented for 18–24 hours before being thoroughly washed and finally slowly dried on African raised beds. The result: a special microlot with clear sweetness, fine acidity and a precisely balanced, clean flavour profile – calm, structured and just right for every day.

Tips for Preparation

This exceptional Arabica is particularly well suited for preparation using the pour-over method, e.g. with the Hario V60, or with the AeroPress. Thanks to its light roast profile, this coffee unfolds its full potential particularly well when brewed using manual methods. A true all-rounder, La Vega retains its chocolatey and balanced character, whether you enjoy it pure or with milk (or milk alternatives).

La Vega provides fruity-sweet moments every day. Let yourself be won over by the clear elegance of this Colombian microlot from a family-run farm – sip by sip.
