Built-in mesh filter in the lid

You can prepare cold brew tea or infused water right in the carafe: simply add tea leaves, fresh fruit, or herbs to the water. Once the drink has steeped in the refrigerator, you can pour it straight from the carafe. The mesh filter built into the lid reliably strains out all solid particles. Tips for Making Cold Brew Coffee

You can also use the carafe for cold brew, as long as you keep one small detail in mind: The built-in filter is optimized for tea and fruit. If you want to brew coffee directly in the carafe, it’s best to use a very coarse grind (French press or coarser) and carefully pour it out after letting it steep for 12–18 hours.

For an especially clear result: Since some coffee grounds in the cup are unavoidable when brewing directly in the carafe, we recommend either placing the coffee in a disposable filter bag beforehand or pouring the finished beverage through a paper filter (e.g., V60) when serving to ensure a completely sediment-free cold brew.
