Three Modes for Complete Flexibility
A handy switch on the side lets you switch between three smart brewing modes in a flash:
- Manual mode: You have full control over tare and timer.
- Pour-over mode: Thanks to auto-start on the first pour and the integrated ratio display, you'll always get the perfect ratio for your brew.
- Espresso mode (new!): The scale automatically detects the first drop in the cup and starts the timer by itself – so you can concentrate fully on the extraction.
More sensitive, compact, and robust
Compared to its predecessor, the Basic 3 is around 10% more compact, making it an even better fit for the drip tray of your espresso machine. The new high-precision sensor is even more sensitive: it measures from a starting weight of 0.2 g (in 0.1 g increments). In addition, the interior has been equipped with stronger electromagnetic shielding – this means extremely stable measurements without annoying “jumping” of the numbers.

The clever design also impresses in terms of durability: one battery charge is sufficient for around 280 brewing cycles, allowing you to concentrate fully on your craft.
