The Bialetti stovetop coffee maker was first produced in 1933 by Alfonso Bialetti. Today, the Moka pot is used in almost 90% of all Italian households. The original is easily recognizable by its logo, the “omino con I baffi” (the little man with the mustache). The classic from Italy

If you take the strict definition of espresso into account, the Bialetti does not make real espresso. Since espresso is prepared at a brewing pressure of 6 to 9 bar and the Bialetti stovetop coffee maker only generates a maximum pressure of 1.5 bar, the product is a strong filter coffee. However, this does not detract from the taste, and with the Bialetti stovetop coffee maker, you get an intense, thick coffee that does not lose much of its character even when milk is added.
